I’ve always loved words. Since I was a child, I have sought out the sunny corners and the cozy nooks to lose myself in a book. Saturday mornings would turn into lazy afternoons with me still in bed, engrossed in a story. I remember one summer in particular when I had a long  reading list for my high school English class. I spent almost every day in the big yellow chair in our living room, happily working my way through the novels. American literature has been a favorite ever since (thanks Mrs. Herring!).

I’m still a reader, mostly of novels. It’s the story that I love, the threads of character and circumstance that all tie together in the end. I love the connections.

I enjoy writing, too–but it’s only been the past few years that it has gone beyond emails and Christmas letters.  Whether I find a cozy, sunny corner or not, I can sit for hours writing about an experience or a relationship, excited to see how the threads of our lives connect and intersect, letting the writing lead me to a deeper understanding. Sometimes the loose ends even tie themselves up into a neat little bow. Sometimes.

If You’re Looking for the Blog, It’s Here

Blog Posts are where I write about life in the Bay Area, my growing and changing family, memories and whatever else seems to want to be written. I’m working on getting more regular about posting, but so far it’s been sporadic at best.
